What is Greenfield Summer Day Camp?

Greenfield Summer Day Camp is a summer day camp program for children ages 6 to 11 (kindergarten needs to be completed). For the past 19 years Greenfield Summer Day Camp has provided the community with a fun-filled and quality child -care service. We provide structured activities, fun indoor and outdoor games, art and craft activities, swimming, and sports.
Greenfield Summer Day Camp is held and sponsored by the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd. Although sponsored by the church, our camp does not have a religion-based curriculum. The camp facilities include a very large, indoor air-conditioned hall, a kitchen, a large outdoor playing field, a pavilion, and a baseball diamond. A qualified, trained, responsible, and caring staff ensure that your child will have a great time at camp, and a memorable summer vacation!

What do campers do at camp?

Each week at Greenfield Summer Day Camp revolves around a theme. The Day Camp staff fills the daily schedule with fun activities, crafts, and games that enhance the theme. Each week also includes a field trip (local and distant) based on the theme, which requires travel on a school bus. Campers swim at Greenfield Estates Pool on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The pool is supervised by life-guards as well as the camp's own staff. Each week a newsletter is available to keep parents and guardians aware of weekly plans. The following is a list of the themes for each session, divided by week.

What should a camper bring?

Campers should bring their own lunch to camp every day. A big bottle of water also helps to refresh campers throughout the day. Sunscreen is also important to keep your camper protected from the summer sun. Campers should be dressed appropriately for activities such as running and painting. On swimming days campers should bring their swimming suit and towel. To avoid an overflowing Lost and Found box, please write your campers name on his or her belongings. We hope that all campers bring their positive attitude and an appetite for fun!

Besure to check back to review our 2010 schedule which will be posted as it becomes available.
