Fine Arts Series Schedule 2009 - 2010

Lessons & Carols
Sunday, November 29, 2009; 4:00 pm
In addition to the Advent readings you love, this year Jeffrey O’Donnell, oboe, Sherri Bitner, Celtic harp, and Douglas Albert, trumpet, will join the ranks of singers, bell ringers, and string players to present some of the season’s most glorious music. The haunting Hebrides carol, “Lullaby of the Christ Child,” will be featured along with Eric Whitacre’s lush “Lux Arumque,” and “E’en So, Lord Jesus, Quickly Come,” in honor of the late Paul Manz.

Seventh Annual Children's and Youth Music Festival
Sunday, March 14, 2010, 4:00 pm
This will be the seventh annual children’s and youth music fest, and these young people are getting better every year. A hand-picked group from Fritz Elementary School’s fantastic Orff and Drum Ensemble, directed by Karen Brown, will join the four angelic choirs of the Kennett Symphony Children’s Chorus, headed by Dr. Kristen Albert. Added to this year’s festival is Georg Philipp Telemann’s Viola Concerto in G Major, played by talented High School Senior Anna Russell and the Good Shepherd Strings, directed by Douglas Albert.

Fine Arts Extravaganza
Sunday, April 25, 2010, 1:00 - 4:00 pm
Patrick Ball, who is considered one of the premier Celtic harpers and storytellers in the world today—with nine instrumental and three spoken word albums to his credit — will be the featured artist. His beguiling blend of music and spoken word will make you feel as though your feet are standing on the Emerald Isle itself. Interspersed between his sets you will be able to see the works of watercolorists, photographers, and wildlife artists, which are available for purchase. You may also find yourself deep in conversation with the artists themselves, as they talk about their creative process.
